Hancock girls basketball team is 9-1 after convincing 69-54 win over Minneota at home on Saturday

The Owls went 27-of-37 from the free throw line in Saturday afternoon's non-conference contest.

Minneota fell to 9-6 overall.

Bree Holleman surpassed the 1,500-point mark for her career, as she led the team in scoring with 26 points.

The Hancock girls basketball team is now 8-1 overall. This Friday (Jan 23) the Owls travel to face once-beaten West Central Area, at the Knights' high school hardwood in Barrett.

The Owls hosted the Hornets (3-8) in Hancock on Friday night. Up next for the Owls is a home game against Central Minnesota Christian-Prinsburg (3-6) on Tuesday, January 20.

Bree Holleman led Hancock with 24 points and five assists. Lauren Nelson added 12 points and Illissa Koehl had 11.

The Owls girls basketball team (5-1 overall) hosts the HLA Comets (2-3 overall) to start the new year. Last season, the Comets finished 4-21 overall, including a 71-38 loss at home to the Owls on January 28th.
