Winning for the 12th time this season against no losses, the Hancock Owls girls basketball team defeated host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa tonight 63-40.

The Owls shot out to leads of 8-0 and 29-13 in the first half before the Jaguars went on a 9-2 run before the break.

Hancock quickly built the lead back into double digits in the second half and was never challenged down the stretch by the Jaguars.

Below, the Owls are on their way to an 8-0 start to the game with two minutes gone.

Up next for the Owls: a home game tomorrow (Jan. 18) against sub-section opponent Henning. The Hornets are 5-8 overall. They snapped a five-game losing streak last Friday night when they beat Ashby 44-39 on the Arrows' court.
