The Hancock Owls girls basketball team took a hard-luck loss at Evansville on Thursday night in a 47-45 overtime finish against Brandon-Evansville, defending Sub-Section 6A-South champions.
Sophomore center Heather Strese scored the only two points of the overtime period on a layup with five second to go to life the Chargers to the victory.
Bree Holleman led the Owls with 22 points, including six three-pointers.
Up next for Hancock: a non-conference game at Dawson-Boyd (0-2 Camden North, 1-2 overall) next Monday night.
